During the school years and beyond, reading becomes a primary source of new knowledge. As teachers, I'm sure you are aware that being a good reader is essential for academic success. As teachers, you should become aware of the processes that develop while becoming an expert reader. Read through the first Course Note "The Nature of Reading" for a brief outline of these processes.
